My gift

After just having a birthday, I have decided to give myself a gift for the rest of this year. It will be the gift of a healthy life. I am now 29 years old, a wife and a mother of two boys, and I am ready to start focusing a little more on myself. I'm sure any other parent can agree on how hard it is to spend time for yourself. In making a better physical, and spiritual "me", I know I can also be a better mom!

Here are a few of my goals;

#1 Eat a healthier diet, cutting out much of the processed food and extra fats and sugar. Focus on fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.

Doesn't this picture just make you want to be healthy?

#2 Exercise and get down to a healthy weight.

Will it be a lot of work? Oh yes. Will it be worth it? For sure!

I heard a coroner talking about how fascinating it is to look at a human body on the inside and know exactly how the person lived and died. I want my story to be much different than what it is right now.

#3 Work on the spiritual things.

It's so easy to do what is right, while then again so difficult. Just do it! I know it will make life better!

This year will be a sweet farewell to my 20s and a warm welcome to starting off the 30s with a happier, healthier me!

Is there anything you are doing to accomplish your goals?

Cards magazine wedding card entry #2

I am so glad to have a second card finished for this contest! This card was made by combining two stamps to make a custom swirl for the flowers to rest on. I couldn't quite find the perfect color flower for a vintage look, so I used some pearl paint and painted the petals. The "LOVE" tag was also stamped and I melted several layers of thick embossing enamel over it. I love old fashioned feel this card has!

Wedding card entry

Here is a wedding card I made for a contest. I love the monocramatic scheme and the dainty butterflies. I hope I win!

Happy 25th Lema!

I read so many blogs and love the pictures and details in them, which makes me want to do better at adding to my own. Life seems to take you away and time dissapears. I will show the results of the picture frame soon.

Things have been kind of hard for us lately, especially with the holidays approaching. Citizenship papers need to be filed by January, which is bad timing for the Christmas season.Who new they would cost so much? Then again, I am having lots and lots of fun exploring my creative side and making homemade gifts. (pictures to come soon.)

We would also love to add to our family, mostly so Miles will have someone to play with, but that subject is hard too. After two miscarriages, it's a very emotional subject. Still we know that what the Lord wants to happen will happen.

On to happier things, I am so glad it's December tomorrow! Christmas is my favorite holiday by far! Music, baking, gifts, decorations, I love it all! I wish the Christmas spirit would last all year.

Here's an early resolution to keep up with our blog, and live life to the fullest!

Something old to something new

One of my favorite things to do is to buy old items from the thrift store and "spruce" them up a bit to make them my own. I never see things as they are, but how I can fix them up to become new and up to date. Here is a small shelf with cross stitch in it, but I see it as a photo frame and key holder. It was $1.50, scratched, and needed a fresh coat of stain. Stay tuned to see what I can come up with! (Petend the hooks aren't there. I added them before taking my "before" photo.)

Back from a great trip

Here we are, on the beach in Samoa on miles' birthday. I love this picture with everyone smiling, the rain just beginning to fall and not a care in the world. I would highly recommend a far away vacation to everyone!

A post! Hooray for posting a post!

This is my first official post, by myself without any help. So far, so good!

Saturdays are the best. I get so much done when Lema is home. I miss him during the week, even though we see him every afternoon after work. There's just nothing better than spending a day together as a family. Wouldn't it be nice to stay home and still get paid for it? How would it be.......
I just can't get enough of Miles and his cute cheeks and toothy smile. Hard to believe he is almost one.
It's late, but I have to say this blogging thing may become addicting. :)
